Phillips County received more than $110,000 in grant money from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. The money will be used to fund four separate projects.

Phillips County received more than $110,000 in grant money from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program of the Department of Arkansas Heritage. The money will be used to fund four separate projects.

A County Courthouse Restoration grant of $30,000 was awarded for a preservation plan for Phillips County's historic courthouse in Helena built in 1914. The Helena Museum of Phillips County received a $50,000 Historic Preservation Restoration Grant for masonry restoration at the Helena Library and Museum built in 1891. A $16, 107 HPRG grant was awarded to the Richard L.Kitchens american legion Post 41 for roof restoration and electrical upgrades. The American Legion hut was built in 1922.

Main Street Helena got a $15,000 Downtown Revitalization Grant.

Last week, Governor Hutchinson announced that statewide, $2,824,799 in grant money was released for 47 projects.

The grants were financed the Real Estate Transfer Tax funds.
