Funeral services for Ruth Bennett will be held on Saturday, July 1, at 2:30 p.m. at the Church or Christ in Blackton, followed by her burial in the Blackton Cemetery.

Funeral services for Ruth Bennett will be held on Saturday, July 1, at 2:30 p.m. at the Church or Christ in Blackton, followed by her burial in the Blackton Cemetery.

Rev. Otis Dotson will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, form noon until 6 p.m.  in the Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Ruth Bennett was born Aug. 22,1926. She confessed Christ at an early age at the Star of Bethlehem Church. Ruth later became a member of the Church of Christ in Blackton, where she remained a member until her death. Ruth received her wings on June 22, 2017 at Crestpark Nursing Home in Helena-West Helena. Ruth is preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary Rambo and Jesse Williams, her husband, Henry Bennett, two daughters, Thelma Haywood and Emma Harper, and a son, Henry Bennett, Jr., Ruth leaves to cherish her caring, and loving memory, J.C. (Ruthie) Bennett of Omaha, Nebraska, Florence Goldsberry of St. Louis, Missouri, Viree Bennett of Memphis, Tennessee, Verlean Bennett of Helena-West Helena, Earnies (Deadra) Bennett and Danny (Sandra) Bennett, both of Little Rock; 23 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. Ruth lived to see at five generations of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, and family friends who will miss her. Services were entrusted to Stephens Funeral Home.
