Former Marvell resident Misty Collier Farr is a finalist for a prestigious national pharmacy award.

Farr is one of three finalists for the 2017 Next-Generation Pharmacist Patient Care Provider Award. Parata Systems and the “Pharmacy Times” co-sponsor the awards that recognize pharmacists in 10 categories.

The Patient Care Provider Award is presented to a pharmacist whose focus on patient care and customer service, through a specific occasion, personal action or activity, has established himself or herself as an exemplary patient advocate.

Farr currently serves as a pharmacy manager for a Walmart in Florissant, Missouri, a St. Louis suburb. She previously served as pharmacy manager at the Chesterfield Walmart location. She also was a regional immunization champion for the company and helped train pharmacists implement immunizations at Missouri Walmart locations.

In 2016, Farr received the Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award by the Missouri Pharmacy Association.

All finalists will be featured in the July 2017 print and online editions of “Pharmacy Times” and on nextgenpharmacist.com.

Pharmacy leaders will be recognized and honored at a gala to be held Aug. 19 at the San Diego Zoo. Winners in each category will be announced and an overall winner will be named the Next-Generation Pharmacist and will be featured on the August 2017 cover of “Pharmacy Times.”
