The Internal Revenue Service has granted Crime Stoppers of Phillips County tax exempt status as a 501 (c) (3) organization. Organization President Rev. Mike Wilkie made the announcement Tuesday.

The Internal Revenue Service has granted Crime Stoppers of Phillips County tax exempt status as a 501 (c) (3) organization. Organization President Rev. Mike Wilkie made the announcement Tuesday.

Donors can deduct contributions made to CS of Phillips County, Inc. under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. 

“Praise God! We are also qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts under IRC Sections 2055, 2106, or 2522,” commented Wilkie.  “We are formally determined to be a public charity under the above IRC references.”

According to Wilkie, the next step will be joining Crime Stoppers USA. Then, Wilkie added, the organization will begin the process of getting set up.

The next meeting of CrimeStoppers of Phillips County will be Monday, June 26 at 5:30 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce office.
