Funeral services for Carrie Mae Brison, 72, of Little Rock, will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 20 at the P.L.M.&D District Center. Interment will be in OakGrove No. 3 Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 5 p.m., Friday, May 19, at Brown's Home for Funerals.
Carrie Mae Brison was born July 13, 1944 to the late Viola and Walter Speed in Helena.
Carrie accepted Christ as her savior at an early age at Pleasant Joy M.B. Church of Helena where she remained a faithful member until she relocated to Little Rock. In Little Rock, she joined Lonely Baptist Church.
Carrie enjoyed cooking. She worked for the Little Rock School District as a food service worker for 15 years. After retiring from the school district, she worked at Walmart in the bakery/deli for five years.
Carrie is preceded in death by her parents, Viola and Walter Speed, three brothers, Herman Speed, Frank Speed, Walter Speed, Jr., and a sister, Mable Speed.
Carrie answered her heavenly call on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at her home in Little Rock.
Carrie leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Tammie Kinsey of Jacksonville, Florida, Alexander (Latisha) Speed, Lincoln Brison, Terrance Brison, and Bria Tucker, all of Little Rock; a host of grandchildren and great-children; three sisters, Mildred (Andrew) Alexander and Maxine Speed of Little Rock, Mae Dean (Theotrice) Mitchell of Helena; a brother, Charles Speed of Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
