Memphis, Tennessee television station WREG-TV reports that a third suspect, Gary Hart, was also arrested. His age and residence were not listed in the police report received by The Helena World.

The city's second homicide of the year occurred at around 8:40 p.m. Sunday. H-WHPD Chief Virgil Green reported that the department received a 911 call from a North 4th Street resident reporting they heard multiple gunshots. When they looked outside they saw a black male suffering from gunshot wounds.

"When officers arrived at the scene, they found a black male who had been shot several times," commented Green.

EMTs were immediately dispatched to the scene. Stringer was later pronounced dead.

According to Green, witnesses told investigating officers that they spotted a blue SUV driving down 4th Street. The SUV reportedly stopped and the occupants began firing their weapons at the front porch of the residence.

It was reported that when the shots rang out Stringer hit the ground and began crawling toward the house. The occupants thought Stringer had made it safely into the residence but when they looked out they saw him lying on the porch with several gunshot wounds.

Immediately following the shooting, Green reported the department received multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the North 4th Street area.

Green went on to say that officers immediately began searching for the blue SUV. At approximately 9:05 p.m. officers saw a vehicle matching the description of the one involved in the shooting in the North 6th Street area.

"Currently, we believe the motive behind the shooting is related to an ongoing feud between several gangs," stated Green. "At this time, it appears that Stringer was the intended target in the shooting."

"This is an ongoing investigation," added Green. "Investigators are still interviewing other witnesses. It's possible that other arrests will follow."

Green concluded saying that the suspects will be formally charged with capital murder in connection with this homicide investigation.
