Funeral services for Rosemary Sanders, 48, will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, March 18 at the P.L.M.&D District Center. Rev. Jerome Webb will officiate. Interment will be in Oneida Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m on Friday, March 17 at Brown's Home for Funerals.
Rosemary Sanders was born Dec. 12, 1968 in Oneida. She was the youngest daughter of Lestine Banks and Frank Sanders.
Rosemary was a 1987 graduate of C.V. White High School at Lake View. She was employed for many years as a home health aide. She later started a catering business and travel agency. Rosemary was a tremendously strong woman, who was devoted to her family and children. She was a hard worker and very tenacious. Rosemary would always help anyone in need regardless of their situation or condition.
Rosemary’s hobbies were cooking, feeding the community and traveling the world.
She will surely be missed by all of those she touched.
Rosemary confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at the Macedonia M.B. Church. She moved to Harvey, Illinois and joined the New Mt. Olive M.B. Church where she served as a faithful choir member.
She later moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia where she united with the Changing Generation Church where she remained until her health failed her.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Samuel Sanders Sr. and Izzie M. Sanders and great-grandparents, Emmeal and Lucinda Banks.
Rosemary answered her heavenly call on March 6, 2017 at the home of her uncle Jonah and aunt Dr. Mary Scott, surrounded by her loving family.
Although she is gone from our presence, she will forever remain in our hearts. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her daughters, Ebony Sanders and Erica Harper of Lawrenceville, Georgia; a son, Rafeal Sanders of Lawrenceville, two grandchildren, Jordan Sanders and Kingston Sanders of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sisters, Carolyn Hunter of Merrillville, Indiana, Cheryl Holmes of Lynwood, Illinois, Shantae (William) Wesley of Arlington, Texas, Monique (Jeffery) Wesley, Tracy (George) Wesley of Saginaw, Michigan; brothers, Darrin (Charmaine) Wesley of Springfield, Ohio and Demetrice Fleming of Helena-West Helena; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
