James “Red” Cooper, 68, of Helena, passed away March 6, 2017 at Helena.

Mr. Cooper was born Jan. 29, 1949 at Helena to George Washington and Geneva Mae Charlton Cooper. He worked several years for the Corp of Engineers out of Memphis, Tennessee. He was an Army veteran.

Mr. Cooper leaves his sister, Joyce Mallard of Helena; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents,a brother, Bobby Cooper and a nephew, Grady Garrison Jr.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
