National Wear Red Day was observed Friday, Feb. 3. Why Go Red? Heart disease and stroke cause 1 in 3 deaths among women each year, killing approximately one woman every 80 seconds. Fortunately, we have the power to change that because 80 percent of cardiac and stroke events may be prevented with education and action. Helena Regional Medical Center hosted a Go Red information event to raise awareness of heart disease among women. Participants made their rounds to the information station at this festive event, and received a Go Red for Women goodie-bag, refreshments, door prizes and helpful information on heart disease.
