Elaine man shot in the back, Monday; injuries are minor

An Elaine man suffered minor injuries to his back after another Elaine man shot him shortly after 1:30 p.m. Monday.
Lakevious King, 22, was shot in the back after he and Larry Hicks Jr., 39, began arguing. The shooting occurred at 214 North Elm St. in Elaine.
According to Phillips County deputies who in investigated the shooting apparently the two men had been involved in an on-going argument for several months.
King was taken to the Baptist Hospital in Forrest City where he was treated and released.
Hicks is charged with first-degree battery in connection with the shooting and is being held in the Phillips County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
Deputy Brian Holloway is in charge of the investigation.
