An attempted break-in was reported to police Sunday at a residence in the 100 block of South Fifth Street. A glass was broken out of a door on the east side of the house. However, the would-be thief did not gain entry.

A woman, who lives in the 300 block of North 8th Street, told police Sunday that her van was vandalized. The vandal spray-painted vulgar words in red paint on the van.

A man, who lives in the 500 block of York Street ,reported to police Saturday that someone stole his light meter from his residence.

A Helena-West Helena man told police last Thursday that several residences in the 800 block of Chicago Street were vandalized. One of the units was set on fire. Extensive damage was reported to the apartments.

A woman, who lives in the 500 block of Columbia Street, reported to the police on Jan. 14 that a black male stole the air compressor behind the building at the Mapco Convenience Store.

A woman, who lives in the 100 block of Ann Street, told police on Jan. 14 that her vehicle was vandalized. The sides, trunk and the top of her Pontiac Grand Am were scratched.

Reginald Quiney reported to police that a local man used his identity and as a result had caused Quiney to have his driver's license and vehicle insurance suspended.

A,man who lives in the 300 block of Baringo, told police last Friday that someone broke a rear window out of his residence. Missing from his home is an Emerson 42- inch plasma flat screen TV, and an e-machine computer with tower monitor, speakers and keyboard.

A Helena man, who was working on a house in the 100 block of Porter Street, reported to police Saturday that while the weather was cold he left his work tools in the house and when he returned on January 16 an air compressor, a reel and hose, a 16-foot ladder and a framing gun were missing. The man told police that the house was locked and the thief apparently pried the door open

A woman, who lives in the 100 block of LaSalle, told police Saturday, January 16 that she found three young men in her storage shed.

Dr. Harry Michel reported to police Sunday that someone stole the copper wiring from the air conditioner units at his office at 819 Newman Drive in Helena. The wiring is valued at over $2,500.

A woman, who lives in the Dogwood area, reported a break-in at her home Monday, Jan. 18. Missing are a big screen TV, computer and several thousand dollars worth of guns.
