Otey pleads innocent to murder charge

Jamie Lynn Otey has entered a plea of not guilty to the first-degree murder charge in connection with the Sept. 19 stabbing death of Curtis Charise, according to Phillips County Circuit Court records.
  Otey’s attorney, Dion Wilson, entered the not guilty Friday.
 Otey is accused of stabbing her husband, Charise, in the stomach with a buck knife on or about 4:40 a.m. Sept. 19 at a Lake View residence. Charise was taken initially to Helena Regional Medical Center and later transferred to The Med in Memphis where he died.
  Phillips County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Otey.
