Tickets for the 25th annual Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival are expected to go quickly and buying them in advance could save you money to use for Blues Buck purchases, ABHF Executive Director Munnie Jordan said Thursday.
“You could save up to $5 per ticket,” Jordan said. Festival tickets that allow ticket holders to access the main stage are $25 a person through Pay Pal,” Jordan said. “It will include admission to all three days of the (Oct. 7-9) festival.”
Tickets may be purchased in advance at Edwards Food Giant, a Blues King sponsor, for $23. A $3 coupon can be found on the back cover of the 2010 AT&T Yellow Pages throughout the region, Jordan said. AT&T is a primary sponsor.
With the coupon and advance ticket purchase at Food Giant stores in Midland Heights, Marianna, Forrest City, Harrisburg and Little Rock, a patron could save $5 per ticket. Advanced tickets will be available Aug. 30-Oct. 1.
Those who purchase advanced tickets at Food Giant will be entered into a drawing for a 2010 Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival poster autographed by all of the artists who perform at this year’s festival, Jordan said.
“This year’s festival promises to be one of the best ever,” Jordan said. Legendary B.B. King will perform 9 p.m. Oct. 7 on the main stage. Dr. John will perform Oct. 8 and Taj Mahal will be the headliner Oct. 9.
Other key performances will include Reba Russell, Paul Thorn, Kentucky Headhunters, Pinetop Perkins, Michael Burks, Marcia Ball, Anson Funderburg & The Rockets, Charlie Musselwhite, and Bobby Rush.
Performances will take place on the main stage, the Acoustic Stage, the Emerging Artists Stage, the Gospel Stage and Bit O’ Blues Stage.
Besides performances, the festival will include a 5K-10K run, a blues symposium, barbecue cook-off, a variety of vendors and activities for the family.
