  • A domestic dispute that occurred at Wal-Mart on July 19 escalated into aggravated assault incident according to Helena-West Helena Police reports.
In his narrative, Cpl. Amos Bryant reported that a man entered the store through the receiving doors and created a disturbance with his girlfriend, who was working at the time of the incident. The woman attempted to elude the man by walking away from him.
Bryant’s report goes on to state that several employees began laughing at the man. The subject responded with obscene language. He also reportedly raised his shirt revealing a handgun stuck in his waistband.
The suspect threatened one of the employees because he was laughing, saying he “was going to get him.”
The woman left the building and the man continued to follow her. It was reported that once the pair reached the black truck the man arrived in, they engaged in a verbal altercation.
The woman began to walk away fast when the subject attempted to get behind her and then she began to run.
Police reports say they arrested the suspect without incident at a gas station on July 21. He faces charges of aggravated assault, third degree battery, disorderly conduct and terroristic threatening.
