  • Linda Kaye Campbell was born July 16, 1954 to the Late Mary A. and Aubrey”A.G. “Garner, Sr. in West Helena.  Linda departed this life on June 26, 2014 at her home in Helena surrounded by her family.
Linda was  loving and at times freely spoke her mind.  She was strong-willed and showed extraordinary strength through her journey. She enjoyed singing, dancing and fishing. She enjoyed posing for the camera with one hand on her thigh and the other on her hip. Linda was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, friend, aunt, and sister. She worked at Kroger’s for over twenty years, where she met many people. She most recently worked at Helena National Bank for ten years where she also met great people. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and most recently transitioned to Christ Temple of Church of God and Christ under pastoral ship of Supt. Alex Smith.
Linda was joined in holy matrimony  on July 17, 1970 to Carvis Campbell, Sr., who preceded her in death.  To this union four lovely children were born: Jocelyn Campbell-Heisser (Jason), Carvis Campbell, Jr. (Angie), April Campbell-Henry (Adrian) and Demarius Campbell (not yet married but hopefully soon).
Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Mary and Aubrey Garner and sister, Lessie Lilo.
She leaves to cherish her memories her companion, Gregory Brown; four children as named above and a close nephew, Kevin Maxey (Angela); special sister-in-law, Clinton Smith (Alex); three sisters: Charlene Hicks of Boling Brooks, Illinois; Delois Banks of Milwaukee; Shirley Mills (Mark) of Milwaukee; and one brother, Aubrey Garner, Jr. of West Helena; twelve grandchildren and one great-grand; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Linda Kaye Campbell will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at New Haven M.B. Church. Supt. Alex J. Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, July 4, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel.
