During World War II, as a teenager, Hugh joined the Navy and served until the end of the war as a Seabee in the Pacific.
A 1949 graduate of Auburn University as a chemical engineer, Hugh had a long and distinguished career working for many years for Arkansas Louisiana Gas Co., and finishing his career with Allied Chemical in Helena.
He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church serving on the memorial committee and assisting Kathryn with the church library and the church's prayer chain.
Hugh was recognized for his keen intellect, his quiet demeanor, and his ability to recognize the best in everyone he met.
The family requests that memorials in lieu of flowers be sent the First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
