  • Lots of exciting things are planned for the debut of the 2014 Second Saturday season on Cherry Street. April’s event, called the Cherry Street Fair, promises to be bigger and better than ever with a petting zoo with lots of farm animals for the youngsters in the Kidzone. For the adults there will be a new lawn game called giant Jenga. New this year will be The Project Picasso Art Auction. This event will be similar to the popular TV series Project Runway. Three talented local artists will be given a subject to paint and will have just two hours to complete their masterpieces. The paintings will be auctioned off at 6:30 p.m. In recognition of April’s theme, “Farmer Joe” there will be a speed-spitting contest. Besides all the new activities there will be the usual live blues music and delicious food. The fun begins at 5 p.m. and will continue until they roll up the sidewalks around 8 p.m.
