Willie Williams, 112, of Helena, passed away on March 2, 2014 at Crestpark Skilled Nursing Home of Helena.
Willie Williams, 112, of Helena, passed away on March 2, 2014 at Crestpark Skilled Nursing Home of Helena. Brother Willie Williams was born on Jan. 1, 1902 in Gary, Ind. to the late Annie Mae Dismuke. He confessed hope in Jesus Christ at an early age. In his golden years of life, he joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his Savior called him home to rest.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Carrie Williams; sons, Henry and Jerome Williams; granddaughter, Patricia Ann Williams; grandson, Carl Lee Minor, Jr.; mother, Annie Mae Dismuke; brother, James W. Dismuke and sisters, Clemente Daniel and Alma Nixon.
He leaves to cherish his memory, four sons, Willie Williams, Jr., Billie Williams, both of Helena, James Williams of Okmulgee, Okla. and Johnnie Williams of Little Rock; five daughters, Annie (Skip) Hillery Glass of Helena-West Helena, Joyce (Charles) Robinson of Chicago, Ill.; JoAnn (Jeff) Matthews of Cordova, Tenn.; Carrie Mae Williams of Helena, and Irene Williams of Little Rock; a beloved daughter, Melinda Lawson; a beloved son, Joe Cockerham; 25 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives, friends; and a close, special friend, Gladys Harris.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 14at Kincaid Funeral Services East Chapel, 1160 Springdale Road in Helena. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Zion Hill M.B. Church in Helena. Rev. Leroy Harper will officiate. Burial will follow in New Zion Cemetery.
