Funeral services for Christine Fonzie will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 at the Springlake M.B.
Christine Fonzie was born April 27, 1962 to Sam and Ernestine Fonzie in Madison, Miss.
She was the youngest of six children.
Christine accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church.
Christine was a member of the Class of 1980 at Central High School. She received her GED in 2010.
Christine was a jack-of-all-trades – a nurse's assistant, a home care provider and a bus driver but most of all Christine was a wonderful mother, grandmother and sister.
Christine became a member of the Reed Memorial CME Church where she was a hardworking cook and a devoted choir member until her health failed in 2013.
Christine loved dancing, listening to blues, hanging out and making friends everywhere. She also picked up a hobby, “BINGO”.
Christine will truly be missed, mostly by her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her children, Tamiko Johnson (Dowden), Charlotte Brown, Charlie Brown, Neoudrey Brown, Jocklyn Brown and Jessica Shanell Fonzie; 13 grandchildren, Aqrasha Colbert, Christian Taylor (Johnson), Quinterious Colbert, Iesha Otis, Brianna Brown, Naomi Hair, Jakirrah Brown, Dekivion Brown Janise Brown, Neoudrey Brown Jr., Constance Brown, Caleb Johnson and Darmontay Hawthorne; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Ayers, and Zykien Thrower; four brothers, Willie C. Bell, Sammie Lee Fonzie (Juril), Bennie Fonzie (Sue),Tommie Lee Fonzie; a sister, Annie Gill (Ken); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Christine Fonzie will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8 at the Springlake M.B. Church. Rev. Robert Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Springlake Cemetery. Visitation will be on 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 7 in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel.
