Funeral services for the late Willie James Smith will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Mt. Zion Church of Deliverance at 631 Ladino St. with Elder Willie Moody officiating. Visitation will be noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 in the Stephens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held in New Zion Cemetery Willie James Smith, 56, of Helena-West Helena passed away Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 in Little Rock. He was born in Marvell to Amos and Ida B. Smith Lacey on Feb. 22, 1957. He served in the U.S. Navy for many years. Willie leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Dwaneia (Redarrio) Smith of Maryland; a son, Cliff Smith of Little Rock; his grandchildren, Jayquon Smith and Gabrielle Smith; siblings, Matthew Smith, Ida Mae Cheataum (Robert), Lois Mayfield, Lee Amos Smith, Sammie Lee Smith, Joseph Smith, Debra Bailey (Roscoe), Shelia Roberson, Scottie Smith (Lakeisha), Regina Emanuel (LeVoie) and Retina Vincent (Kerry); uncles, aunt; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins His father, Amos Smith, a brother, Randy Smith, and a sister, Bettie L. Taylor, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Mt. Zion Church of Deliverance, 631 Ladino Street with Elder Willie Moody Sr. officiating.
