Carol Lynn “Meme” Schaffer, 57, of Lexa, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 at University of Arkansas Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Carol was born Dec. 31, 1956 in Lancaster, N.H. to George Henry and James Helen (Hunt) Collins. Meme's life was her job and her family. She was store manager of the Tobacco Super Center in Helena-West Helena for 13 years. She leaves her mother, Jamie Collins, of Lexa; a daughter, Angela Collins of Kosciusko, Miss.; a brother, Jim Collins and his wife, Cindy, of Yellville; a sister, Ila Moss and her fiancÚ, Glen Cockroft, of Kosciusko; two grandchildren, Dani Reynolds and her husband, Timmy; and Devin Collins; three great-grandchildren, Bently, Jason, and Laura Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews. Her father, George Collins and her husband, James “Boppa” Schaffer, preceded her in death. Visitation for Mrs. Schaffer will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3 at Kincaid Funeral Home in Helena-West Helena; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 in Bowie Chapel at McCool, Miss. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4 in Bowie Chapel Cemetery in McCool with O.C. Chunn officiating.
