Timothy Johnson, of Stuttgart, has recently been appointed to serve as a member of the Board of Visitors of Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA).
Timothy Johnson, of Stuttgart, has recently been appointed to serve as a member of the Board of Visitors of Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA). The Board of Visitors meets monthly to discuss academic, financial and operational issues concerning Phillips Community College and serves as an advisory board to the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees. Production manager for Delta Plastics of the South, Johnson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in wellness/physical education from the University of Arkansas at Monticello. He has been active in his service to the community for a number of years, particularly in community youth programs and Stuttgart School District programs and has served as a volunteer coach and reading tutor. Johnson has been a member of the slow-pitch softball and three-on-three basketball teams, a national tournament winner, and has been inducted into the 3-on-3 Basketball Hall of Fame in Boston, Mass. Noting the importance of higher education, he said, “I have been able to use my college education and experiences to give back to my family and community. Isn't that what education is for?” Other members of the PCCUA Board of Visitors include Bill Brandon, Ruth Denson, Rick Duffield, Jane Ferguson, Gena Jennings, Earnest Larry, Laverne McGruder, Walter Morris, Bill Reed, Eddie Schieffler, and Betsy Wright.
