  • After stopping a local man for driving without a seatbelt, sheriff's deputies wound up arresting the man on several drug-related charges according to an incident report filed by the Phillips County Sheriff's Office. According to an incident report, Deputy Jeremy Bramlet stopped a white pickup truck to cite the driver for not having his seatbelt fastened. A check through dispatch revealed that Robert Morgan's license also was suspended. Bramlet took Morgan into custody for driving with a suspended driver's license. The report stated that a search of Morgan's vehicle turned up an orange tube with digital scales beside it. Inside the orange container was a clear plastic baggie with a rock-like substance. The incident report stated that the substance was field tested and turned out to be crystal meth ice. Morgan was then charged with possession of a controlled substance crystal meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. The incident occurred on Jan. Morgan is in custody at the Lee County Jail in Marianna. His bond was set at $40,000.
