  • Helena-West Helena police are seeking three white males in connection with the Thursday, (Dec. 26) robbery of the Helena Crossing Conoco convenience store. According to police reports, Helena-West Helena Police Officer Chris Hellums responded to robbery call around 3:23 p.m. While viewing the surveillance video, Hellums saw a white male wearing a white baseball cap pull out a gun and point it at the cashier. A second white male in line also pulled out a handgun and ordered the customers to get down on the floor. At that time, the customers ran out of the store. The man at the counter proceeded to take the money from the register. He and the other gunman fled the store and got into a black Chevrolet pickup truck where a third white male was waiting for them. Hellums was told that the truck crossed the Helena Bridge. The storeowner, Marty Bennett, told Hellums that the robbers got away with about $600. Officers searched the bridge area and the Isle of Capri Casino but could not find any sign of the black Chevy truck.
