  • Hill & Hill contractors are currently paving the streets in Maple Hill Cemetery for the first time in many years. Maple Hill is one of the most visited sites in Helena by tourists from across the country. The cemetery was originally located atop Reservoir Hill prior to the Civil War, but following the Battle of Helena on July 4, 1863, many of the graves were destroyed by Federal artillery shells. Originally named Evergreen Cemetery, Maple Hill is the final resting place for three of Helena's Confederate Generals
