  • – Jose Oakley, general manager of Isle of Capri presented a $25,000 check from Isle of Capri to Teach For America in Arkansas and Mississippi Tuesday morning, sponsoring teachers in Phillips County, Arkansas and Coahoma Mississippi. “Isle of Capri and Teach For America are partners in working to ensure that doors of opportunity are open for all children,” Oakley said. Isle of Capri has supported the work of Teach For America for the last four years. “We believe every student can learn and achieve at an absolute level and we are thrilled to receive such generous support from Isle of Capri,” said Teach For America Development Director Jenn Mohead, who has taught in both Phillips and Coahoma counties. “Their support will directly impact the support we provide teachers in local classrooms. Teach For America-Mississippi serves 27 Mississippi districts, mostly in the Mississippi Delta region. Over 350 teachers teach over 31,000 students. Teach For America receives private support from individuals, corporations and foundations and public support from local school districts and the state of Mississippi.
