  • Funeral services for Cheryl Diane Powers will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at Manasseh Christian Fellowship. Pastor Vandell Bland Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Cheryl Diane Powers was born Sept. 8, 1955 in Hampton, Va. to George Noah Powers Sr. and Lou Tishia Powers. Cheryl attended Southside Elementary School and Eliza Miller High School. Cheryl accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She attended Manasseh Christian Fellowship. Cheryl was employed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Calif. for many years. On her return home to Helena, she was employed at Helena Chemical Co. and Crestpark Retirement Inn. Her parents, George Noah Powers Sr. and Lou Tishia Powers, precede Cheryl in death. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her sons, Curtis Levon Powers of Helena-West Helena and Eric Lemon' Powers of Woodland Hills, Calif.; a daughter, Matishia (Vandell Jr.) Bland of Helena-West Helena; her brothers, George Noah Powers Jr. of Helena-West Helena, Chief Warrant Officer Kevin Andre (Daphne) Powers of Atsugi Japan; a sister, Sonja Rene Powers-Owens of Los Angeles; her grandchildren, Danielle Powers, Ethan Powers, Devon Powers, Curtis Powers Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. --
