James Ray Cravens, 77, of Clarksville, passed away Oct. 14, 2013. He was born Dec. 17, 1935, in Scranton to the late Willie Thomas and Rebecca Arcenia (Houser) Cravens. He worked as a framer and ginned cotton for many years. James loved people and he never met a stranger. Mr. Cravens leaves his wife, Bea (Carter) Cravens of the home; a daughter Rebecca and Marvin Pearrow of Lamar; two sons James and Darlene Cravens of Clarksville and Ray Cravens and Rebecca of Clarksville; grandchildren, Lea Angela Pearrow and Chris of Madison Tenn.; Adam Pearrow and Amanda of Fayetteville, Taylor Cravens of Fort Smith, Coly Cravens of Clarksville; great-grandchildren, Trayce Scantling of Fort Smith; Addison Edwards of Madison; a sister, Francis Sue Ranells of Paris; six brothers Gery Thomas Cravens of Elaine, Jerry Don Cravens of Sumrall, Miss., Larry Lee Cravens of Mount Julet, Billy Dean Cravens of Knoxville, Ark., John Marion Cravens of Rison and Joe Floyd Cravens of Clarksville. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Cravens' graveside service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct.17, 2013 at Kendall Cemetery with Larry Cravens officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.
