KIPP Delta Public Schools is announcing a Building a Better Tomorrow Capital Campaign. With a goal of $1,300,000, this campaign will bring a much-needed building expansion and a playground to KIPP Delta Elementary Literacy Academy.
The new KIPP Delta kindergarten wing will house four classrooms, two offices, and additional storage space. A playground, an essential fixture for the young students, will be built directly behind the building.
KIPP Delta has already secured $750,000 toward the expansion and expects to complete construction before the start of the 2014-2015 school year.
The need to expand KIPP Delta Elementary Literacy Academy has become a top priority. The school, located at 215 Cherry Street, has exceeded all growth targets since its founding in 2009. The building was originally designed to accommodate 250 students, but now serves over 420.
To continue serving as many students as possible, four modular classrooms were installed behind the school in 2012 and 2013. In order for KIPP Delta to continue honoring its commitment to revitalizing downtown Helena and to its students and parents, it is imperative that a permanent building and a beautiful playground replace these temporary classrooms.
Since 2002, KIPP Delta has invested over $7 million in downtown Helena.

KIPP Delta Public Schools is building a better tomorrow. Our vision is to create a paradigm shift in the Delta by establishing centers of academic excellence that will compete with the top educational programs in the country. This will not only encourage current residents to stay and pursue academic excellence in their own community, but also entice newcomers to seek academic opportunity in the heart of the Delta.
