  • Blending creative choreography with outstanding performers to yield unforgettable dance productions, Ailey II, the world-renowned African American Dance Co., will appear as the second event in this fall's lineup of Warfield Concerts in Helena-West Helena. Recognized for its innovative genius in turning ideas into outstanding dance sequences performed with passion and talent, this New York-based dance company, founded by Alvin Ailey, will present a special dance performance at 7:30 pm Tuesday, Oct. 22, in Lily Peter Auditorium at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas. Sponsored by the Delta Cultural Center and in appreciation of Teach for America by Bettye and Dick Hendrix, Ailey II performances have been described as “elegance in motion” presented with energy and passion. Truly inspiring, the dancers are uniquely talented expressing their heart and dedication to their skill in every move, every step. All concerts are free with a ticket.
