John C. Woodie Jr., 77, of Helena-West Helena, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 in Helena.
Mr. Woodie was born Dec. 3, 1935 at Warren to the late John C. and Nettie Gardner Woodie. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a former high school coach and principal.
Mr. Woodie leaves his wife, Jane Woodie of Helena-West Helena; two sons, James Woodie of Little Rock and John Woodie of Richmond Hill, Ga.; five grandchildren, Samuel Woodie, Tanner Woodie, Ryan Woodie, Caroline Woodie and Nicholas Woodie; three sisters, Betty Joe (Clyde) Temple of Warren, Nancy Amidon of Hickory, N.C. and Mary Woodie of Houston, Texas; and a brother, Walter (Anita) Woodie of Star City.
Graveside services for John C. Woodie Jr. will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Park in Helena-West Helena. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8at Roller-Citizens with Rosary beginning at 6 p.m.
Pallbearers are John Woodie, James Woodie, Ryan Woodie, Walter Woodie, Samuel Woodie and Richard Thompson.
