Wilma Jean Williams was born November 25, 1944 in Crumrod to Willie and Josephine Baker. She was baptized at a very early age at Precious Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of Greater First Baptist Church until she joined True Vine Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on many committees. Her mother, Josephine Baker, her father, Willie Baker, two brothers, Clayborn Baker Sr., and Melvin Baker, preceded Wilma in death. Wilma leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 43 years, Homer L. Williams; 3 children, Patricia Tillman (James) of Athens, Ga., Freddie Hill of Helena-West Helena, Derex Williams (Shana) of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Verlene Wilhite (Roosevelt) of El Dorado; a brother, Bennie L. Baker Sr. of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a sister-in-law, Rosie Heard of Helena; a brother-in-law, Emmit Williams (Carolyn) of Helena-West Helena, AR.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Williams' visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at True Vine Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7 at True Vine Baptist Church. Interment will follow immediately in Jackson Memorial Cemetery at Lexa. Rev. Willie Brown will officiate. Jackson – Highley Funeral Home is in charge of the service.
