Attorney Donald Knapp, Jr., owner of the Knapp Law Firm in Helena-West Helena, has been selected to represent Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas as its 2012 Distinguished Alumnus. Knapp will also receive formal recognition by the Arkansas Association of Two-Year Colleges at its annual fall conference in Hot Springs.
Knapp graduated from Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas in 1994. He attended the University of Alabama and Delta State University, where he majored in accounting and business management. From there, he chose to pursue a degree in law and graduated from law school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Knapp has been engaged in private practice since being admitted to the bar, practicing primarily in the areas of business, financial and commercial law and is licensed to practice in Arkansas, North Carolina, Virginia and the District of Colombia. He presently serves on the advisory board to the Entrepreneurship Department at Delta State University. Additionally, he is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar and other federal courts.
Knapp and his wife, Shannon, live at Moon Lake, Miss., and have two children, Krystyn and Ryan.
