Norma Jean Gayden, 76, of Clarendon, departed this life on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 at her home surrounded by family and friends.
Norma was born Aug. 21, 1937 in Pine City to Chester and Mattie Gayden. She was the only child born to this union.
Norma confessed her belief in Christ at an early age. She was a God fearing woman who believed that if you confess Jesus with your heart as your Lord and Savior you may have everlasting life with him.
She was an exceptionally strong woman. She dedicated her life to raising her children, some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norma also loved watching basketball.
Her daughter, Shirley Wofford, precedes Norma in death.
Norma leaves to cherish her memory, her two sons, Elgin Wilborn and Aloon Wilborn, both of Stuttgart; two daughters, Gloria Everett of Stuttgart and Collier Gayden of Clarendon; 16 grandchildren, A.C. Wells, Tekela (Gene) Pike, Natasha (Jay) Hoard, Bianca Sain, Mark Everett, Dennis Everett, Elgin Wilborn Jr., all of Stuttgart, Cherokee (Benjamin) McLaurin, Cortez Wofford and Anthony Glass all of Clarendon, Atavia Williams of Conway, Kristal Wilborn of Memphis, Tenn., Danyell Wilborn of Los Angeles, Calif., Montel (Latana) Gayden, Kanisha Roberts, Gabrielle Roberts and Sequoia Roberts, all of Chicago, Ill.; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
