If you are looking for something that will make a positive and physical impact on your life, try yoga at Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA)–Helena-W. Helena. Yoga instructor Linda Wesson urges members of the community to experience the spiritual, relaxation, and physical effects of yoga as she begins teaching a series of FREE morning and evening classes this semester. “I have been a teacher all my life; it is my calling,” said Wesson. “Given my belief in the importance of the practice of yoga for me and for the world, I teach yoga to deepen my own practice and give others an opportunity to do the same. My experiences tell me that deep learning comes from teaching experiences in which my 'students' are also my 'teachers,' who inform my practice.” Wesson will conduct free classes from 7:00-8:30 a.m. and 5:00-6:30 p.m. each Monday from Aug. 19 - Dec. 16 in the Fine Arts Center Hendrix Gallery. “The practice of Yoga connects mind, body, and breath in order to strengthen the relationship to the Divine,” Wesson said. “For me, this is the most expansive dream that I can hold for myself and for others. It is also the most rewarding and most challenging. I reach out to this purpose every day with excitement, commitment, and dedication.” Participants must register to attend.
