The MacArthur Museum of Military History in Little Rock is to display two flags from the Civil War that haven't been seen in the state since the conflict was fought. The exhibition is to begin Sept. 11 and will mark the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Little Rock, which was fought in 1863. The banners are from the Third Iowa Cavalry and the 37th Arkansas Infantry. They are on loan for 30 days from the State Historical Society of Iowa. The 33rd Iowa Regiment reportedly captured the 37th Arkansas Infantry flag on July 4, 1863, in the Battle of Helena. Admission to the museum is free.
