Two men have been arrested and the missing the weapons from Police Chief Uless Wallace's office have been found following a June 19 incident on Washington Street.
According to Police reports, around 9:56 p.m. officers responded to the Washington Street area regarding a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival officers made contact with two black males. One suspect was spotted running from the back of the house. SCU officer Joshua Cross and patrolman Ransom Bowen made the arrest.
Cpl. Amos Bryant shift commander, SCU Lt. Travis Wallace and Cpl. Matthew Jarrett entered the house where officers made encountered a second black male. Inside the residence, officers discovered a subject in the attic in the hallway.
H-WHPD reported that pepper spray was deployed and the suspect fell down from the roof along with numerous weapons and ammunition.
The Criminal Investigation Division checked the serial numbers of the weapons, the weapons turned out to those taken from Wallace's office. Three weapons were reported recovered and during the interview proceedings information was obtained regarding a fourth weapon.
Both men were changed with discharging fireman in the city limits, unlawfully carrying a weapon, criminal trespass, possession of a controlled substance and theft of services less than $1,000.
The suspects' names are being withheld held until they make a court appearance.
