Bobby Joe Parker, 75, of Helena, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at his home with his family at his side. He was born to Joseph Murkle Parker and Ruth Alice Able Parker. Mr. Parker leaves his wife, Jo Ann Parker; a son, Heath Parker (Ellen) of Senatobia, Miss.; a daughter, Vanessa Parker Stephens (Harry IV) of Helena; five grandchildren, Morgan Taylor Woods, Tyler Reid Parker, Tanner Kale Parker, John Porter Stephens and Chase Thomas Parker; a sister, Naomi Parker Key of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Clyde Alvin Parker (Gayle) of Ashdown. His parents and a nephew, Rickey Parker, preceded him in death. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family. He served 20 plus years in Navy and retired with honorable discharge in 1977. He made his living as an insurance agent with Reliable Insurance. He attended church at Second Baptist Church in Helena-West Helena. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Martin, Dr. Robert “Bobby” Parker, Chad Kirkley, Brad Kirkley, Hugh Key and Frank Jr. Kirkley. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James H. Pillow, Dr. Gill Pillow, Dr. Edward L. Pillow, Dr. Jill S. Pillow, Dr. Jessica L. Pillow and special friend, Billy Hill. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Memorial and Honor Program St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942 and Gideon's International P. O. Box 3258 West Helena, AR 72390. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10 at Turner Cemetery in Turner. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 9 in the Roller-Citizens Chapel in Helena-West Helena. Brother Randy Williamson has charge of services.
