A special check presentation for the 25th King Biscuit Time Charity Golf Classic was made to Elaine Canady, MDA advocate. Golf enthusiasts competed in the annual event to help in the battle to find a cure for muscular dystrophy, a disease characterized by progressive skeletal muscle weakness, defects in muscle proteins, and the death of muscle cells and tissue. Canady stated she would like to "thank the golfers who participated and especially the sponsors, Ludwig Distributing, Isle of Capri and KFFA Radio Station. It really touches my heart when people who are not affected by neuromuscular diseases help MDA with their endeavors."
