Carolyn Ann Martin, 49, of Elaine, departed this life on June 25, 2013 at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock. She was born May 20, 1964 to Vera Hampton and Josh Martin in Lambrook.
Carolyn confessed hope in Christ at the age of 12 and joined Brooks Chapel. In 1991, she joined Lakeview C.O.G.I.C., where she remained a faithful member until death.
Carolyn was a devoted mother, a loving sister, a true friend, and mother to many others. She was saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. We believe she lived a life pleasing to God and He is proud to call her a child of his.
Her father, Josh Martin and a sister, Deloris Hampton, preceded Carolyn in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Vera Hampton; a son, Kedrick Martin; six brothers, Willie (Merlean) Hampton of Dalton, Ala.; Terry (Elaine) Hampton of Compton, Calif.; Rickey Henderson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Hosey Martin of Little Rock, George Martin of Lake View and Linell (Shirley) Lewis Jr. of Lake View; eight sisters, Diana Hampton of Los Angeles, Calif.; Bobbie (Benjamin) Arnold of Rhode Island, Martha (Michael) Slater of West Memphis, Ella Wright of Elaine, Vera Martin of Lake View, Linda Carter of Lake View, Connie (Bryan) Wilkins of Lake View, Deborah Otis of Lake View; three godchildren; many special friends, Linda Grove, Linda Pruitt, Joyce Truit, Glenda Wade, Deetra Luckett, Ora Barnes, Iona Mitchell; two godmothers, Tavern Davis, Barbara Jefferies; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and acquaintances.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 28 at Kincaid Funeral Services. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29 at New Haven M.B. Church.
