Thelma Malissia Heagwood, 85, of Helena, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Helena. Mrs. Heagwood was born April 2, 1928 at Plumerville to the late Millard C. Perdue and the late Ethel M. Lewis. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Helena-West Helena and worked in the cafeteria at Woodruff School. She leaves two sons, Roger Rutledge (Mary) of Millington, Tenn. and Hank Heagwood of Helena; three grandchildren, Rebecca D. Rutledge, Malissia E. Rutledge (Kristopher) and Michelle E. Rutledge; and a sister, Martha Black (Alton) of Spiro, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard E. Heagwood, six brothers and three sisters. A graveside service for Malissia Heagwood will be held 2 p.m., Friday, June 28at Sunset Memorial Park at Helena-West Helena. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Brother Randy Williamson will officiate. Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church of Helena-West Helena. Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, Helena-West Helena, will direct services.
