Mu Chi Omega Chapter hosted their Fashionetta 2013 pageant at Phillips County Community College of the University of Arkansas on June 2. This year's theme was “Stepping Out with Elegance, Poise and perfection.”
Mu Chi Omega Chapter hosted their Fashionetta 2013 pageant at Phillips County Community College of the University of Arkansas on June 2. This year's theme was “Stepping Out with Elegance, Poise and perfection.” In the months prior to the pageant, nine young ladies participated in a variety of activities that included self esteem, conflict resolution, skin care and etiquette designed to enhance their cultural enrichment. The participants were Amayia Kemp, Akeelah Rose, Jakyra Ann Jackson, Jaelyn Byrd, Madyson Canada, Kennedy Simes, Miracle Zimmerman, Traci Booth and Brittney Larry. The escorts were Tyree Booth, Cornelious Byrd Jr., Demond Franklin, Kendrick Jackson, Artrius Kolen, Derrick Rose Jr. Steven Ross, Spencer Vent, and David Whitfield. In addition to the highlight of their individual talents and a choreographed dance routine, contestants in their lovely white gowns and elegantly dressed escorts performed a traditional waltz. Winners from Fashionetta 2011 Crystal Davis, Miss Fashionetta, Emily Yarbrough, Junior Miss Fashionetta, and Aliyah Armstrong, Little Miss Fashionetta returned to crown this year's winners. This years winners were Brittney Larry, Miss Fashionetta, Kennedy Simes, Jr. Miss Fashionetta and Amayia Kemp, Little Miss Fashionetta. Funds raised from this event will be used to provide academic scholarships and support for community projects funded by Mu Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Sorority, Inc.
