  • Funeral services for the late Freddie Carter will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Beautiful Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be noon to 4p.m. in Stephens Funeral Home Chapel Family hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Pastor Donald Perkins will officiate. Interment will be in State Veteran's Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. Freddie Carter was born March 7, 1934 in Blytheville. He was the son of Jessie and Ada Bee Carter. He married Mildred Walker on July 30, 2006. Freddie accepted Christ as his Savior at Revival Center COGIC in Rondo. Freddie departed this life on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis. His parents, Jessie and Ada Bee Carter, his brothers, Jessie C Carter Jr., Mack F Carter, Eddie Banks and his sisters Mabel Banks, Nell Billingsley, Beatrice Cater and Rosetta Carter, preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Mildred Carter of Helena; a brother, Andrew L (Karen) Carter of Chicago; a sister, Shirley J. Carter of Lake View; two daughters Patsy (Phillip) Anderson of Kankakee, Ill.; Kerryeane Davis of Holly Grove; two sons, Jimason Thomas of San Antonio, Texas; Langston Robins of Helena; a special niece, Joy Banks of Little Rock; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him dearly.
