James Edward Gilmore Sr., 67, of Marvell, passed away May 22, 2013 in Little Rock. He was born Sept. 7, 1945 to the late Minnie and Henry Gilmore Sr. in Turner. James was a very hard worker and loved spending time with family and friends. He would help anybody in need of help in any way he could. He loved working on the farm, which he did for many years until his health began to fail.
His parents, Minnie and Henry Gilmore Sr. and two brothers, Isaiah Moore and Claude Moore, preceded James in death. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, two sons, Shun Shields of Kankakee, Ill. and James Edward Gilmore Jr. of Chicago; a daughter, Juanakee Beasley of Chicago; his grandchildren, Charles Lindsey, Brandi Gilmore, Devin Gilmore, Shund Clemons and Deontae Clemons; his siblings, Cal Lee Moore of Chicago, Eddie Mae Paige of North Little Rock, Prince A. Gilmore, Henry Gilmore Jr., Ivory Gilmore (Debra) all of Little Rock, Anthony Wayne Sain (Mary) and Linda Jackson (Calvin), both of Marvell. He also leaves to cherish his memory his caregiver, Lakita Farr of Helena-West Helena and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 31 at Kincaid Funeral Services. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at St. Mark M.B. Church. Rev. Willie Lee Gilmore will officiate.
