Every 40 seconds, a child goes missing and this year over 20,000 Take 25 events are expected to usher in National Missing and Exploited Children's Day this year. Take 25 is a national child safety campaign of the National Center for Missing Exploited Children encouraging families to take 25 minutes to talk to their children about safety and abduction prevention. The goal of Take 25 is to heighten awareness about child safety issues. The Phillips County Library, the Helena-West Helena Police Department and Helena-West Helena Fire Department have teamed up to create better awareness and help prevent your loved one from being one of the 800,000 children to go missing. Local events and activities will take place this from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Hays parking lot in West Helena this Saturday, May 25. “We're trying to create more of awareness for missing and exploited children and prevent more children from going missing here in Arkansas,” comments Erica Deiss, Phillips County events coordinator.
