  • Nerds rejoice. The Big Bang Theory and American Horror Story: Asylum led the way with six Critics' Choice Television Awards nominations each. The nominations were announced Wednesday morning.
    HBO topped the networks with 21, followed by FX with 19, CBS with 11, ABC with 10, and NBC and Fox tied with nine nominations each.
    The Big Bang Theory is up for best comedy series, best actor in a comedy series (Jim Parsons), best supporting actor in a comedy series (Simon Helberg), best supporting actress in a comedy series (Kaley Cuoco, Melissa Rauch), and best guest performer on a comedy series (Bob Newhart). Big Bang will fight Louie, The Middle, New Girl, Parks and Recreation, and Veep for best comedy series.

    American Horror Story: Asylum is in the running for best movie or miniseries, best actress in a movie or miniseries (Jessica Lange), best supporting actor in a movie or miniseries (Zachary Quinto, James Cromwell), and best supporting actress in a movie or miniseries (Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson). American Horror Story: Asylum is up against HBO's Behind the Candelabra, Encore's The Crimson Petal and the White, BBC America's The Hour, USA's Political Animals.
