Doris Nell Hardesty, 79, of Helena, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Helena. Mrs. Hardesty was born June 19, 1933 at Loretta, Tenn. to the late Andrew Louis Johns and the late Millie Gertrude Smith Johns. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
She leaves a son, Shawn Monroe Hardesty (Karen) of Lambrook; four daughters, Patsy Ruth Hardesty of Lambrook, Jackie Renee Lamb (Steve) of Elaine, Shannon Leanne Gerraputa (Nathan) of Conway and Kellie Hardesty Griffith (David) of Marianna; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jonni Pascoe of Sterling Heights, Mich. and Kay Auger of Detroit, Mich.; and two brothers, Jack Johns of Theodosia, Mo. and Herman L. Johns of Belleville, Ill.
Her parents, her husband, William Owen Hardesty, a son, Michael Owen Hardesty and a brother, Hershel Johns, preceded her in death.
A chapel service for Doris Hardesty will be held at 10 a.m. at Roller Citizen Funeral Home, Saturday, May 18. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park at West Helena. Brother Fred Garrison will officiate.
Pallbearers are Louis Martinez, Jeff Johns, Chris Johns, Billy Johns, Bailey Griffith, Darrin Hardesty, Matthew Hardesty and Chad Hardesty. Honorary pallbearers are Rick Johns and Bobby Grady.
