“A previous CEO gave this group the nickname of 'The Pink Ladies.” says Helena Regional Medical Center Marketing Director and Volunteer Coordinator Sharon Martin. “He was proudly referring to our hospital auxiliary volunteers that are here supporting our front lobby and gift shop, always in their pink smocks.”
The Arkansas Hospital Auxiliary Organization began in 1974 to support the needs of patients, their families and hospital employees. They are a non-profit organization that puts its fundraising efforts back into patient comforts such as TVs for waiting rooms, toys for outpatient children in surgery, helping with caps for the newborns and the list goes on of their generosity.
A reception to honor these amazing volunteers was held on April 25, inside the Delta Cafeteria at Helena Regional Medical Center. The ceremony was opened by Buddy Daniels, CEO of HRMC. Daniels honored them with details of how beneficial their time and actions are to this hospital and community.
“When you take a look at the group picture of volunteers, there is one very specific thing missing.” “Do you see it?” “IT'S YOU!” exclaimed Martin. “We are taking application for volunteers, just stop by the front desk, pick up a packet and get the process started, you are needed at HRMC. Gentlemen, you are welcome to become a part of our team too.”.
Helena Regional Medical Center's business office employees served the volunteers, cake and ice cream. They also received a gift bag with many items contributed by the individual departments within HRMC. Helena Regional Medical Center is proud of all their volunteers.
