Wanted: community leaders to apply for a min-grant from the Delta Bridge Project.
However, Mindy Maupin, AB program coordinator for Southern Partners, says there is absolutely nothing miniature about the grant's potential.
“Our new program seeks to broaden opportunities for community engagement in Phillips County,” stated Maupin. “Applicants can work with our Goal Teams to align their project with the 2010-2020 Strategic Community plan. Together, our community can make a difference.
According to Maupin, all eligible projects must address a goal or action step in the 2010-2020 Community Strategic Plan. Community enhancement or beautification projects will receive top priority, she added.
The grants available will range from $500 to $2,000. The deadline for applying for the grants is 5 p.m. May 31.
Community groups, churches, municipalities, fraternities, sororities and any 501c3 or 501c6 organization are eligible to apply.
Those interested in learning more about the grants and the application process should make plans to attend an information session at Southern Bancorp at 502 Cherry St. in Helena at noon, Wednesday, May 8 or 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16.
