Rev. Jesse L. Sanders, 87, of Helena, went home to be with his Lord on April 8, 2013. He was born Sept. 2, 1925 to the late Samuel and Alice Sanders in Marvell. He was a World War II veteran and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1946. Rev. Sanders was the founder and pastor of the House of the Lord Church for over 40 years. He was well known in the community.
He leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Dolly Sanders of Helena; three daughters, Jeannie Eason of Kenia, Alaska; Sherry Lemaire of Conway and Robin Sanders of Helena; two sons, Jesse Mike Sanders of Helena and David Mark Sanders (Ardelle) of Lafayette, La.; a sister, Cornelius Cavettee of Springdale; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Visitation is 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 12 with graveside services following at noon at Sunset Memorial Park. Brother Dennis Wilson will officiate.
Pallbearers are John Lemaire Jr., Spencer Lemaire, Seneca Bradshaw, Ethan Bradshaw, Ronnie Long and Vince Wilson. The family will gather for a special memorial service immediately following the burial at Faith Outreach Church.
